It’s December and nothing much is going on at the allotment. We’re missing going down there and it feels weird after spending so much time there in the summer.
On my last trip down though, the cold frame had been blown open in the winds and I just wanted to share what can happen in Yorkshire with a bit of rain in December.

Fortunately since then (and after weighting down the cold frame lid with some of the big rocks we’ve spent 2 years digging out of the plot) the ice has thawed and the sage at least still seems to be alive!
The other thing that’s turning my thoughts to the new year and planning for the plot is the sight of garlic, propagated from cloves from the Red Duke plants we grew this year, starting to grow on the balcony – a Christmas treat!
